Easy Like Sunday Morning.. With My Top 10 Bridal Tips
As I sit here on this beautiful sunny Sunday morning, I am thinking of the week just gone. I feel incredibly grateful to have had yet another fully booked week along with being a part of two wonderful weddings.
With Bridal season in full swing and the weather is considerably warmer, I’ve put together my top 10 Bridal tips that could come in handy on the morning of your big day!
Top 10 Bridal Tips
In the weeks building up to the big day, practice wearing your Bridal shoes for 1 hour everyday. This will help to break in your new shoes and get you used to wearing them. By the big day, they will be comfortable to wear from dawn till dusk.
Be considerate of timings when it comes to planning your wedding morning. Allow plenty of time for hair and makeup to be completed especially if you have a larger Bridal party. You’ll want to allow roughly 1 hour before the ceremony/leaving time for dressing and photographs.
As the Bride, it’s tempting to go last for both hair and makeup to ensure that yours is the freshest of all. But this can be detrimental to timings if there are any hiccups earlier in the morning. The Bride should always be second/third from last to avoid being rushed.
When it comes to Bridal prep, the room will get very warm very quickly. I recommend opening a window and having 1 to 2 fans in the room to keep the air circulating and everyone cool.
If possible, have hair and makeup in separate rooms. Hair tools and makeup lights generate a lot of heat, so to keep things cooler spread them out where you can.
Once your makeup is finished, avoid sitting out in the sun. This will prevent the makeup from melting and moving before the ceremony.
Pack a makeup touch up kit in your handbag to ensure that everything stays perfect throughout the day. (If you choose me as your Bridal Makeup Artist, this is included with your makeup)
Before putting your dress on, be sure to use the ladies first. It’s a team effort to get the Bride into a toilet cubicle once dressed.
I recommend putting your shoes on first before dressing, as it can be a challenge to put them on after the dress.
Most important of all, be sure to stop for a moment and take it all in. Your wedding day is a long day, but it will go by in a flash.
I hope that these tips are useful for preparing for your special day. There is something magical about being a part of a wedding, and it’s a feeling that certainly never gets old!
